Quality Manager / QHSE Manager - Packaging Location: Haverhill - Suffolk Salary: DOE Company: A leading packaging provider within paper, corrugated, cardboard, flexible packaging and label manufacturing solutions. Role You will be responsible for leading the site Quality, H&S, and Environmental agenda, ensuring the full deployment of the quality strategy, systems and processes to meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, BRC,FSC and ISO 14001; ensuring the delivered product consistently meets customer requirements and expectations. You will work closely with Operations to ensure processes and activities have clear standards which are met rigorously and continue to be developed in line with best practice. You will help champion and deliver a QHSE improvement mindset across the whole site. Maintain product, systems & audit requirements for BRC Agents * Coordinating activities required on site to meet Company, site and regulatory quality standards. * Ensure compliance with specific external and internal standards including, ISO 9001, 45001, FSC, BRC, and 14001. * Manage and improve procedures and documents in line with the relevant management standards for the site. * Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with environmental permits and other relevant legislation * Control and maintain an effective and up to date hazard identification and risk assessment programme * Provide and communicate accurate and timely QHSE data to the wider management team * Implement, perform, and ensure adherence to the site auditing schedule; any findings being addressed, closed, and communicated back to the relevant business area in a timely manner. * Understand the needs and expectations of customers regarding product quality and ensure these are an integral part of the quality management system. * Develop, execute and improve QHSE processes and activities with the emphasis on continuous improvement, defect, accident and environmental impact prevention and compliance to meet the needs of our customers, business, and stakeholders. * Develop and implement QHSE training to support the needs of the business and its stakeholders * Execute team briefs and maintain / update QHSE performance data * Ensure the management systems and the site are always 'Audit Ready’. * Process and investigate customer complaints, managing the process for any corrective and preventative action. Publish analysis of complaint causes by type and business area. Drive down ENC and CNQ. * Develop and manage short and long term QHSE strategy, objectives, and KPI’s * Regularly communicate with Operations regarding QHSE issues, and provide feedback on any incidents during the daily meetings * Represent the Quality Department within the Site Leadership Team, playing a full part in the delivery of the site strategy and budget. * Help develop a culture of Safety, Compliance, Quality, and Continuous Improvement across the site. * Deliver site health and safety induction to all new employees. * Continuously develop your own knowledge and best practice through networking with colleagues at other sites, and by keeping abreast of industry and legislative developments. * Adhere to general housekeeping and hygiene rules ensuring the wider team always maintain a clean, tidy and organised environment. Requirements: * Proven QHSE experience * Ideally experience within a packaging or print manufacturer / supplier * Strong printing background, ideally with an understanding of Flexo and Gravure * Understanding of BRC and ISO quality systems * Quality lead auditor would be advantageous * Leadership qualities * NEBOSH and IEMA * Ability to prioritise and work both independently and within a team Apply: Please email your full CV details to us.
