Recruit Engineering have a brand new vacancy just in for an experienced HSE Officer. This role could suit an HSE Co-ordinator looking to take a step up. We are ideally seeking candidates from a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment. Role Purpose: To assist and support site management and workforce in the prevention of accidents and ill health. Much of this role will involve offering pro-active guidance and support on all matters of Health, safety and environmental (energy) issues to employees and management to aid the continual improvement & compliance of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 standards. Key Responsibilities: * Agree site based objectives and targets with Senior Management to drive continuous improvement initiatives * Conduct operational and management system internal audits covering occupational health, safety, environment and energy. * Support site management in the review and development of HSE documentation. Highlighting areas of potential risk & developing action plans with managers & employees to reduce residual risk / hazards within the workplace * Manage and co-ordinate emergency preparedness drills / training for fire evacuation, serious accident / incident. * Complete robust investigations of incidents, inclusive of personal injury, near miss, plant damage & environmental. Produce statistical data on findings to include root cause analysis & provide recommendations for corrective actions. * Collate HSE information to present at monthly HSE meetings and other committees/forums in line with the requirements of the (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 standards. * Support site management to deliver informal & formal training relating to HSE & Energy management system requirements Experience & Qualifications: * Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate or other recognised qualification i.e. I.O.S.H Managing safely. An environmental qualification is desirable e.g. NEBOSH certificate in Environmental Management or IEMA * 2 - 3 years working HSE experience in within a heavy engineering / manufacturing environment good working knowledge of HSE Law * Proficient in MS Office Applications & experience of business systems e.g. Q Pulse * Experience of Change management & CDM regulations * Qualifications / experience of lifting / slinging, use of fork lift truck or first aid is desirable.
