My Client, a Romford Council is seeking a Gas Safety Compliance officer for a 3 month contract. The manager is looking for a Gas Safety Compliance officer responsible for all aspect of contract management of Domestic and Commercial gas contractors, as well as providing technical advice and audits. The role is as follows: To manage a range of Building Services and Compliance contracts ensuring excellent service delivery to Council residents in line with legislative, corporate and best practice requirements: To manage the delivery of day to day and maintenance and capital investment requirements for all managed stock including all pre- and post-contract management. To assist in the procurement of new contracts as required in accordance with European and Council rules and standing orders. To act as the client representative and contract manager for the delivery of compliance and service related programmes through external contractors, consultants and internal SLAs. To assist the Building Service and Compliance Manager co-ordinate multi-disciplinary teams and individuals, both internal and in partnering organisations, in the delivery of service objectives. To be responsible for statutory compliance associated with building services installations within the areas of the post holder's responsibility including management and maintenance of compliance regimes, servicing programmes, data management production and management of KPI's including all pre- and post-contract management. To consult and liaise with residents, tenants and leaseholders as appropriate to ensure effective service delivery and excellent customer service. To be responsible for managing and reporting the Building Services and compliance works budgets within the areas of the post holder's responsibility Experience Knowledge and Skills Must have a working knowledge of mechanical and or electrical engineering in a social housing environment. Demonstrate an understanding of the landlord's compliance requirements within the social housing sector. Detailed understanding of construction and refurbishment processes in a social housing sector. Experience of developing, implementing, monitoring and managing standards of performance and service delivery outcomes. Experience of managing and delivery of large scale servicing and compliance contracts including the production of specifications, drawings and contract documentation and effectively management of associated budgets within set parameters Knowledge of all elements of Building and Services, Contracts, Housing Legislation and good Practice. To have an up to date knowledge of the necessary guidance notes, codes of practice, statutory and legislative requirements relevant to the role. Must be IT literate and have experience of working with and using a range of IT applications The post holder may be required to work evenings, weekends and occasional public holidays in order to meet service requirements. Essential Qualifications for the role A degree or equivalent professional qualification in a Building Services or related subject, or suitable related appropriate experience at a senior level. The post holder must have the ability to drive hold a valid driving license suitable for use in the UK and have access to a vehicle for use at work Please only apply for this position if you have the extensive skills and experience require working within a Council or Housing Association background.
