We are currently looking to recruit a Trading Compliance Officer, who will provide specialist advice and support to assigned companies in areas of assurance and statutory/regulatory compliance. What does the role involve? As a Trading Compliance Officer, the advice and support you provide will cover (but won’t be limited to) HSEQ, products, services, certification and accreditation in all areas of assurance and statutory/regulatory compliance.  You will verify assets and liabilities by reviewing received documentation against regulatory standards.  You’ll assist in the completion and review of Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures, in addition to working with colleagues on the development and enhancement of produce ranges.  You will examine supplier controls, ensuring accurate and reliable records, assist the site management teams to develop and implement local plans for change management and fulfil company and statutory obligations in respect of risk.  Moving forward, you will need to conduct off-site compliance visits and audits, assisting with internal audits required by certification and assurance schemes and conducting external supplier evaluation audits where necessary, all of which ensure you are working with colleagues, customers, suppliers and manufacturers to support the audit function. The successful candidate will require: A high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and a naturally inquisitive nature The ability to effectively communicate across a variety of levels and with a variety of different stakeholders An understanding of documented regulation, with the ability to think critically and analytically, whilst solving any problems and issues An understanding of Management Systems, third-party systems and ways of working and business best practice Fantastic interpersonal and organisational skills, with excellent presentation skills A background in a similar role within construction or manufacturing would be advantageous, as would a background in internal auditing About us… SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products
