CURRENTLY HOME WORKING DUE TO COVID-19 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Vision for Education, Smart Teachers, ABC Teachers  are seeking a Compliance Officer to provide a diligent, independent vetting service of candidates to our wider branch network. Working in a central safeguarding team the successful Compliance Officer will approve applications for teachers and support staff to join our supply register for work in schools and other learning establishments across the country. We are looking for a proactive, driven and hardworking individual to join our dedicated and supportive team. You will work in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands and the primary responsibility will be to efficiently process and approve teacher and support staff applications in a timely manner. The central safeguarding team has a vital role in ensuring that we actively complete the application process whilst also maintaining our high standards. You will play a valuable part in the success of the company and your efforts will be recognised. What the Compliance Officer role entails: Receive and process candidate applications Review candidate employment references in line with requirements and ensure there are no safeguarding concerns Identify errors and seek corrections to applications Communicate effectively with colleagues and candidates regarding applications Chase references and other outstanding information to support colleagues in branch where required Understand policies and procedures, relevant legislation and statutory guidance and ensure that these are applied Perform Barred List, TRA and Update Service checks Communicate any safeguarding breaches or concerns to the senior safeguarding team or the Safeguarding Manager The successful Compliance Officer will: Have a strong eye for detail and be able to work accurately and quickly. Have a keen grasp of understanding policy, legislation and guidance and able to apply these effectively Be self-motivated and able to prioritise and organise own workload Have excellent time management skills Be able to work to strict deadlines Use initiative to solve problems Be computer literate and have good written communication skills Have an excellent phone manner and enjoy phone work Have an ability to build rapport Be able to work as part of a team Previous experience in compliance is preferred.
