Electrical Compliance Officer (EICR) £25,481 - £27,041 per annum 37 hours per week based in Nottingham Nottingham City Homes manages more than 27,000 homes across the city on behalf of Nottingham City Council. All of our homes have reached the decent homes standard and, as part of our ‘Building a better Nottingham’ programme, we are building hundreds of new council homes – the biggest programme of its kind for a generation.   We are looking for an Electrical Compliance Officer to join our busy technical services team. In this key role, you will be responsible for investigating and gaining access to difficult to access properties in line with NCH policies. You will be required to negotiate with tenants who maybe refusing access in order for NCH to successfully gain access for Electrical safety checks to be carried out. You will have a firm but fair supportive approach to supporting our tenants where you will utilise your communication skills and provide clear information to tenants in relation to the NCH guaranteed access procedure. You will have the ability to remain calm in challenging situations whilst making necessary arrangements for electrical engineers to attend and carry out electrical safety checks at short notice. The successful candidate will be required to support vulnerable tenants and ensure equal access to the service by adapting the service to meet any individual needs. Therefore the post holder will need to possess a collaborative approach as they will need to regularly liaise with Managers, Housing Colleagues, Legal Teams and other NCH stakeholders to investigate reasons for non-access You will be required to gather evidence including documentation, records, photographic and video evidence, letter plate stickers (if required) and any other information is recorded and NCH pro forma is completed in line with NCH policies. You will act as designated officer and attend Court in order to present the evidence collected and as a key witness to obtain injunctions or for any other electrical related non-compliance issues as and when required. Ideally you will hold a suitable qualification in Housing or experience working in a tenancy enforcement environment. The ideal candidate will be computer literate in a wide range of computer packages, in particular confident with the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to produce reports, spreadsheets and presentations. The post holder may need to work flexible working hours which could outside of normal hours or weekend in order to attend difficult to access properties.
