HSE Manager role for a global manufacturing company. Site role based in Holywell, Flintshire. Client Details Our client is a global manufacturing company with a bespoke range of products, based in Holywell. Description . Ensure that the site has robust systems and procedures that demonstrate compliance with all relevant national legislation in the area of Health, Safety & Environment and ensure that a regular audit schedule is completed to validate compliance to regulations. · Ensure that the site demonstrates compliance with Global Health, Safety & Environmental standards through robust KPI's and other measurements in line with company objectives & targets. · Defines and develops Health, Safety & Environmental tactical activities in line with company HSE strategy · Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) on site for Health, Safety & Environmental issues and provides guidance to all managers and staff while acting as the focal point for all regulatory authorities external to the site on Health, Safety & Environmental topics including reporting of incidents to meet national Health, Safety & Environmental reporting standards. · Manage communication of site Health, Safety & Environmental performance to group level in line with business expectations. · Manage occupational health surveillance monitoring within the site to ensure that the employees are not exposed to long-term risk within the workplace and that the organization are not exposed to liability from employee behaviours. · Ensure risk assessments are completed / approved and periodically audited in line with a defined schedule or when changes are made to the process inside the workplace via a recognized change management system. Ensure timely completion of resulting action plans with relevant managers and stakeholders. · Coaches and guides other managers to improve / develop management styles & behaviours to improve the safety culture on site, while acting as a role model to ensure noncompliance versus regulation in the workplace is not tolerated. Profile You must be a proven HSE Manager, preferably from a manufacturing, engineering or industrial background. This is a hands on, single site role and we are looking for someone who excels at that level and can demonstrate this with recent success. Essential: · The role holder will hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or be working towards, or equivalent. · The role holder will have prior exposure to ISO14001 & ISO 18001 environmental & occupational standards, or ISO 45001. · The role holder will be able to demonstrate knowledge of UK / EU safety legislation applied under HASAWA and understand current practices in topics as diverse as machinery guarding, CE marking standards, COSHH, DSEAR etc. Desirable: · Experience of auditing H&S and Environmental aspects of the business. · Experience of working within (USA) OSHA standards is an advantage but not essential for the role. · The role holder will be able to demonstrate experience of working with formal Management of Change systems (MOC) to reduce safety and operational risks. · Formal experience in Process Safety Management techniques such as HAZOP is an advantage for the role. · The applicant should be able to demonstrate experience in application of behavioural safety management systems in order to drive an interdependent culture within a workforce. Competencies: · Role model - Is determined to act as a role model and uphold policies and procedures to maintaining a safety system on site while challenging poor performance in a manner that secures long-term cooperation from the individual. · Results orientated and determined self-starter - Capable of self-management and working within a team structure to develop and implement plans that are designed to deliver the objectives and targets of the organisation. · Leadership & Engagement - Leads by example with an ability to communicate effectively and display influencing and persuasion skills across all levels of the organisation from shop floor to senior management level. · Cultural Change - Assesses the current level of maturity of the local organization; develops plans to move to the next level of organizational culture; secures commitment from the site team & implements the plan. · Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone's efforts to succeed. · Change Management - Develops workable implementation plans, communicates changes effectively; builds commitment and overcomes resistance; prepares and supports those affected by change; monitors transition and evaluates results. · Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully using techniques such as (but not limited to) Ishikawa diagrams, 5Why Analysis in cross functional teams / groups to deliver permanent corrective actions to operational safety issues. · Innovation - Displays original thinking and creativity; meets challenges with resourcefulness; generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas; presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention. Job Offer £45,000 to £55,000 depending on level of experience plus bonus and benefits
