Asbestos Compliance and Contract Manager £41,440 - £51,800 plus excellent benefits (Grade D17) Manchester city centre, with flexible / home working options and occasional UK travel We’re looking for an asbestos compliance and contract manager to join our property team. As owners of one of the UK’s largest commercial property portfolios, we’ve got a big job on our hands transforming the Co-op estate to make it fit for the future. Our commercial property team have an important role to play in driving our growth by making sure we get great value from the money we invest into our stores. In this role, you’ll be responsible for making sure all areas of our diverse property portfolio are compliant by ensuring that asbestos risks are effectively identified and managed. This will be achieved by leading and promoting a compliance culture. What you’ll do • lead and support the asbestos risk management compliance category to make sure our properties are fully compliant i.e. take responsibility for the end to end process for asbestos risk management across our estate • take ownership of asbestos related compliance contracts, making sure they’re fit for purpose and managed in line with budget and our supplier management framework • manage supplier performance in keeping our estate compliant and delivering an effective compliance service, ensuring contract metrics and service schedules are adhered to in line with our standards and values • provide technical and delivery management support across multiple delivery workstreams such as facilities management, construction and capital delivery • support internal technical investigations and assessments when incidents arise • maintain and validate internal asbestos related compliance policies and procedures • provide technical support and advice at Compliance Working Group meetings • represent the Co-op at external bodies such as HSE, local authority and specialist compliance groups • lead, support and coach a small team of asbestos co-ordinators This role would suit people who have • significant experience managing asbestos compliance or within a consulting industry for a large portfolio of properties • specific asbestos consultancy qualifications – the successful candidate will need to hold either the BOHS S301 or the WS504 qualification • significant experience managing large complex contracts and executive level supplier relationships, preferably in the property industry • strong MS Excel, data interpretation and report writing skills; you’re proficient using VLOOKUP, pivot tables and other formulas • experience of presenting data to both technical and non-technical audiences in a compelling way • a full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel on occasion to different estates anywhere in UK – as well as visiting suppliers off site • retail knowledge and experience would be an advantage Why Co-op?
