Elevation Recruitment Group are currently partnered with a leading FMCG business who are looking for a HSE Advisor to join one of their large, manufacturing operations in Sheffield. Reporting to the HSE Manager, this role will support the site's HSE functions incorporating, striving to continuously improve all HSE issues within the location whilst supporting the implementation of a comprehensive annual plan to drive a positive culture across the business. Safety is the absolute priority within this business and they are committed to reducing the environmental burden by the processes they employ both at a local and global level. These decisions can however impact significantly on production / operational activities, therefore the SHE Advisor must be able to show considered and well evaluated decision making when making decisions such as this. Duties and responsibilities include: * Ensuring that relevant SHE inspections and audits are carried out at regular intervals and ensuring that departmental managers are aware of any matters needing attention *Conducting accident/near miss investigations * Conduct manual handling, push/pull and repetitive task risk assessments using the HSE templates - MAC, ART & RAPP * Conduct briefs and deliver informal internal training with departments * Support delivery of HSE awareness campaigns and wellbeing events throughout the year * Join and assist H&S behavioural audits with Shift/Department Managers and Team Leaders to improve their understanding and ownership of hazard perception and appropriate actions to raise and resolve * Attend operational daily meetings as and where required - to share updates and drive SHE awareness at all levels of the organisation * To advise the front-line Managers (as appropriate) on matters relating to health and safety of employees and other persons who may be affected by the company's operations * To support the formulation and issue of health and safety procedures and to monitor their implementation within the function * To keep up-to-date with trends in the health and safety development, particular technology or statutory requirements I'm keen to speak to individuals with the following skillset: * Proven experience in HSE within an engineering/manufacturing setting * NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification * Recognised environmental qualification i.e. IEMA Foundation certificate * A team player with a 'can do' attitude; ability to interface and influence people at all levels of the organisation * Fantastic IT Skills * Good communication skills, both written & verbal
