Compliance Health & Safety Manager required for heavy industry environment in north Birmingham, West Midlands. Degree or NEBOSH Diploma level qualification required. Our client is part of a global recycling / manufacturing group employing over 47000 staff worldwide. This role is based at their Birmingham facility, which is currently receiving major investment for futureproofing and process improvement. They are looking for an enthusiastic H&S professional to lead and develop a culture of Health and Safety as a value in their Business. Reporting to the Mill Manager, alongside ensuring legal compliance with relevant Health and safety legislation and development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS), the successful Compliance Health and Safety Manager candidate will work to inspire the team to achieve a zero harm environment and culture, reflecting their drive to be world class. Requirements: NEBOSH Diploma. Trained internal auditor.  Previous experience will be essential as will a good working knowledge of the Environmental Permitting regulations, ISO 14001, BS EN ISO 50001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS18001.  Knowledge of EN 15593 GMP standard; FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody Standards & Mcerts would be seen as an advantage. Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels within the organisation are essential attributes. Work alongside the Environmental Compliance Manager, to manage all aspects of the Compliance department, including full time support (Compliance Assistant). Be on the Duty Managers rota, this involves being on call approximately 1 week in 8. To be available to handle all out of hours Compliance issues.
