P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a HSE Advisor to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full time, permanent basis. The HSE Advisor is a key role in the Great Yarmouth facility with responsibility for advising on all aspects of health, safety and environmental (HSE) matters. Working with the General Manager and function managers, the HSE Advisor will ensure that all HSE requirements are understood and met by providing guidance and leadership on legislation and best practice. The GY facility combines office and manufacturing facilities engaged in the delivery of industrial controls equipment for the energy market. Manufactured equipment includes hydraulic/pneumatic pressure, low-voltage electricity, lifting, welding and manual handling elements amongst others. The HSE advisor will be directly engaged with office, workshop and field-based personnel responsible for the design, manufacture and operation of the equipment. The HSE Advisor will demonstrate, develop and ensure a culture of commitment to HSE in all of the site’s efforts. Key Accountabilities: * Ensure all work at the facility is performed as per safety obligations and commitments * Ensure all work at the facility is performed as per environmental obligations and commitments * Ensure continued facility compliance to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001 * Responsibility for HSE related facilities management * Responsibility for site emergency response planning * Provision of HSE advice, guidance and support to internal departments and colleagues * Management of 3rd party and subcontractor HSE compliance at the facility * Represent the HSE function at the site management meeting * Represent the site at the Global HSE Lead meeting * Contribution to the staff led Health & Safety Committee * Contribution to Company environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) initiatives * Represent the facility in HSE matters at Company global or 3rd party locations as required * Contribute and ensure facility adherence to Company global HSE systems and processes * Develop, maintain, and implement site specific HSE processes and procedures * Management of COSHH and risk assessments for new and existing activities * Identify, coordinate, and deliver HSE training to colleagues as required * Maintain and deliver staff, visitor and subcontractor HSE site inductions * Lead facility accident/incident investigations in accordance with Company procedure * Contribute to Company global accident/incident investigations as required * Report and identify trends in facility HSE leading/lagging indicator data * Advise on HSE opportunities for improvement * Assume control and coordination of HSE risk management activities * Perform internal and external audits and inspections to ensure HSE compliance * Develop and implement site and global HSE campaigns as required * Identify and obtain HSE consents, permits or exemptions required * Provide reports, presentations and information as directed by management * Support tender, customer, supplier and project processes where HSE input is required * Participate in cross function, topic, and/or location working groups as required Person Specification: Essential: Good academic background NEBOSH NGC Occupational Health & Safety Previous experience in a similar role AIOSH/Tech IOSH Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 Good and effective communication with colleagues and 3rd parties Ability to set an example, relate to staff at all levels, and develop a positive culture Ability to motivate people, contribute to and lead initiatives Capability to identify and deliver on objectives Ability to identify and solve problems, manage multiple priorities and multi-task Ability to exhibit good judgment and have proven decision-making skills Commitment to HSE and continual improvement Sound analytical and computer skills Preferred: RQF Level 5 (HND) or above in relevant subject Grad IOSH Certified Lead Auditor Knowledge and application of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques Knowledge of energy sector HSE requirements If this is a role you are interested in, please apply online ensuring your CV is up to date
