Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist metals manufacturing business who are currently looking for a HSE Officer to join a successful team of industry leading experts. Reporting to the QHSE Director, the HSE Officer will support the Senior Management Team in promoting a positive safety culture through leadership and utilisation of best practices. Supplying mostly into the nuclear and defence sectors, the business have performed extremely well over the last 12 months and have continued to add to its headcount making it an exciting time to join a growing, stable business. Our client are looking for an experienced, collaborative individual who can evidence delivering proven results through a passion for influencing and making key decisions. Duties & Responsibilities include: - Manage the performance of direct reports through, probationary reviews, performance reviews and PDR's - Ensure completion of Risk Assessments, PUWER assessments, COSHH assessments, DSE, PPE etc. are carried out and either reviewed periodically or amended due to changes - Ensure Health and Environment Monitoring is carried out in accordance with company policy - Ensure Safe Operating Procedures are completed and available to employees at all times - Advise the site on Health, Safety and Environmental matters arising from its day to day operations - Carry out compliance auditing against legal requirements - Investigate any works accidents and safety observations to ensure effective actions are identified and implemented to prevent reoccurrence - Liaise with other Company Health & Safety personnel to ensure consistent safety practices - In conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager, maintain Customer and Third Party approvals (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) - Promote and advise on environmental legislative requirements, best practice, energy reduction and conservation throughout the company - Advise the Management Team on any health and safety training needs - Liaise with the Director of Knowledge Skills & Development to ensure that all HSE training and records are up to date and training costs are recorded for budgeting and forecasting purposes - Liaise with Local Authorities and H&S Executive on safety and environmental matters - Working with the Training and Knowledge centre ,maintain safety inductions and controls for new employees and contractors - Provide regular communication to all levels within the business through regular HSE meetings, Toolbox talks and upkeep of notice boards etc, including the reporting of KPIs I am extremely keen to speak to individuals with the following skill set: - Proven HSE experience in a manufacturing environment - Holds a NEBOSH Certificate - Environmental Qualifications or proven record in controlling environmental systems - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships . Working knowledge of ISO18001 and ISO14001 .
