Health Safety & Environmental Manager Based County Meath - Ireland Reporting to the Head of HSE, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading HSE activities and initiatives across the site for this leading FMCG brand company. An experienced HSE professional you will have the ability to influence through others, encouraging positive behaviours, influencing change and coaching individuals or teams. With a keen eye for detail you will be able to identify root causes in processes and behaviours, working collaboratively across functions to hone a positive HSE culture. Key Responsibilities: * Developing and managing the risk assessment programme, alongside the site management team, to deliver an effective and efficient program, including conducting Design Stage Risk Assessments * Implement best practice procedures for contractor control * Lead on-site HSE improvements, awareness and engagement programmes * Co-ordinate internal audit programs * Facilitate and lead technical improvements in conjunction with project, maintenance and engineering departments * Ensure robust waste management practices * Extend and manage the site incident management programme with the management team * Identify and ensure delivery of the H&S training program across the site, ensuring statutory requirements are adhered to and take into account best practice and site safety culture development * Implement new legislation requirements and standards * Promote a culture of safety awareness in a collaborative manner * Support the safety and training officer in developing core competencies Experience Requirements: * Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally gained within the FMCG, Packaging or Process related industry sectors * Diploma level H&S or Engineering Qualification * Certificate level Environment qualification or equivalent * Experience of machinery and process risk assessment * Proven track record of accident prevention * Ability to prioritise, co-ordinate and implement key HSE activities (Emergency Preparedness, Internal Auditing, Operational Controls, Training etc.) * Knowledge of OHSAS18001 / ISO45001 / ISO14001, Behavioural Safety Process, Continuous Improvement (TPM / Lean / iL6S), Waste Management Practices and/or Licenced Effluent System would be highly desirable
