This is an ideal opportunity for someone who already has experience of working in Finance and is looking for a role where attention to detail is critical. You will be responsible for calculating UK tax payments on a monthly basis, and ensuring they meet the deadlines provided by the HMRC. Key responsibilities * Prepare and review UK and Irish tax submissions to the highest standard and submit in a timely fashion to both HMRC and the Irish Revenue. * Prepare and review UK and Irish tax computations accurately and in a timely manner meeting deadlines set. * Calculate the UK Tax payments to a high standard on a monthly basis and ensure the payments are consistently made within the deadlines set out by HMRC. * Deal with queries from partners and other departments within Specsavers in a clear and informative manner, replying within the deadlines set. * Assist the Tax Compliance Team Leaders with any responsibilities given including project work. * Perform monthly analysis tasks as required to ensure the team meets its targets. * Work to a high standard with a right first time approach, as determined by the team’s KPI’s. * Looking for areas of continuous improvement. * Opening and dealing with post daily. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Essential * Experience of working in finance. * Good basic understanding of software, specifically excel and word. * Able to work without supervision. * Good problem solving skills. * Attention to detail. * Good communication skills (written and oral). * Willingness to study towards a Tax qualification. * Keen to learn and progress with an enthusiastic approach to work. Desirable * Accounting knowledge e.g. foundation level accountancy skills * Previous experience of UK or Irish Corporation Tax * Previous experience of using Alphatax software
