Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group (Marshall ADG) operates internationally and within sectors that are highly regulated, including export and trade control regulations. These apply to controlled equipment, platforms, goods, related technical information and associated activities. Legislation includes UK Export Control Orders, EU Regulations, the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations and US Export Administration Regulations. Also, other regulations may apply to Marshall ADG business activities with Customers and throughout our supply chains. In addition to trade control regulatory requirements, contractual trade control requirements are also agreed with our business partners. These requirements need to be understood and adhered to. The Trade Control function works closely with Shipping Department, Procurement, Commercial and Business Development functions across Marshall ADG. The Trade Control function is responsible and accountable for developing and maintaining an effective export control compliance programme as part of the Company’s Business Management System (BMS). Trade Control Officers work with colleagues across the business to implement efficient processes that address the obligations placed upon the Company while at the same time supporting the business to achieve its targets. Trade Control Officers are subject matter experts. The Trade Control Officer’s primary role is to ensure that the Company’s activities comply with Marshall ADG’s Internal Compliance Programme (ICP). This includes, but is not limited to: * Support to all Marshall ADG Companies with regards to export control advice, processes, procedures and regulations in relation to operational requirements; * Support to bids and projects through the Life Cycle Management (LCM) process in the BMS; * Day-to-day Point of Contact (PoC) with trade compliance officers within Supplier and Customer organisations; * PoC for Government export licensing authorities in the UK, and overseas as necessary; * Completion of export licence applications to meet business requirements; * Assessment and clearance of Marshall ADG shipments, exports and transfers of goods, * Maintaining Company compliance with the conditions of use of UK Open Licences and US authorisations; * Carry out internal audits of business units as part of the Marshall ADG Internal Compliance Programme; * Product classification for in-house designed parts and bought in items, in conjunction with Engineering and Supply Chain teams; * Screening of proposed business activities, in compliance with applicable regulations, regarding sanctioned entities, denied parties and access to controlled data; * Develop trade control processes and support continuous improvement within the Trade Control function; * Development and delivery of export and trade control training across the Company. Given the responsibility and complexity of the role, prospective candidates must have a proven ability to: * Work within a regulatory framework, preferably trade control or other related to international trade; understand business commercial requirements; develop and maintain compliance programmes; Qualifications * Degree or equivalent qualification by experience, in a legal, compliance, engineering or other technical discipline; * Strong analytical skills; * Experience in international trade, legal or contractual business undertakings; * Ability to liaise with external parties; * Ability to coordinate internal business requirements; * Proactive approach to delivering business objectives
