THE COMPANY: Brewster Partners are recruiting for our client who are a large multi-national business and require a Data Protection & Compliance Officer to manage all relevant policies and legislation within the business to ensure full compliance and risk controls regarding data management. The role is conveniently located and easily commutable from areas of Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield and Doncaster. THE JOB: The job involves working for a central division of a large multi-national business with sites across the UK. Duties will cover: Providing advice across the business regarding data protection. embedding a compliant culture within the business Raising awareness of data protection requirements and employee responsibilities Ensuring all business systems, application and processes containing personal data are reported correctly Identifying local training needs and liaising with other teams internal and external re: delivery Ensuring SARs are notified to the internal Data Protection Officer Ensuring all data protection breaches are notified to the DPO Ensuring all suppliers and data processors are aware of the policies Undertake data compliance reviews Assist with the identification of internal controls - managing risks and taking actions to mitigate Drafting compliance and internal control documentation and policies Co-ordinate the testing of internal controls Supporting the management team during the external and internal audit process Challenging ways of working and developing a continuous improvement cultureTHE PERSON: To be successful in your application you need to be able to demonstrate: A relevant qualification or significant experience in a similar role Comprehensive understanding of the practical application of GDPR and other legislation and official guidance relating to personal data Experience managing SARs and collecting the relevant information Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally Confident providing guidance to staff at all levels Develop and deliver guidance, advice and training to staff re: their responsibilities regarding data protection IT knowledge and understanding in terms of storage, retrieval and information security Knowledge of risk audit procedures Coach a more junior team member Advanced knowledge of MS ExcelTHE BENEFITS: 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays Pension scheme On site parking Multi-national organisationBrewster Partners Office Support & Technical Recruitment is a division of the Brewster Partners Recruitment Group focusing on the recruitment of talent in administration, business support, HR, sales, marketing and purchasing in South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the Midlands.
