IBP are recruiting for a Plant Protection and Compliance Officer based in the North East. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the Utility industry supervising operational construction teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the onsite championing of teams carrying out safe digging practises in line with contract performance, quality and safety standards. This role would suit an experienced construction supervisor/agent or experienced construction operative with good communication and leadership skills. The role will also encompass compliance and quality responsibilities with regards to reinstatement and compaction of excavated trenches. The main duties include but are not limited to: Safe digging practises onsite Onsite assisting of the marking up of third-party apparatus across live projects Provide guidance and coaching of onsite operatives Assistance with utility investigations. Championing the use of cable avoidance tools - Technical support. Root cause training onsite Working relationship with 3rd party utilities Provide expertise and industry feedback on claims Reinstatement quality and adherence to SROH Random trench sampling and compaction testing (Clegg testing) The Ideal candidate must possess the following skills and experience: Demonstrates experience working within the Utilities industry preferably at a Supervisor or Manager level Must have a NRSWA Accreditation Proven onsite experience within construction industry Good working Knowledge of work management systems and windows packages-(XP/Excel/Word) Good financial awareness Awareness of Health & Safety and Quality Assurance Procedures, Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Construction Design Management Regulations and Section 74 Regulations Able to work with complex technical drawings Experience in surveying and detecting underground apparatus Effective leadership and communication skills. Self-motivated, able to motivate others effectively Good coaching skills Results orientated Awareness of customer satisfaction for both internal and external sources Accepts and stimulates change within working environment to help drive right behaviours onsite Thank you for applying for this position.
